What to do this weekend on Bainbridge Island (events, food, and more)...
👋 BI

Hi there,

If you've driven around the head of Eagle Harbor, you've probably noticed the quirky stone sculptures at Sticks and Stones Farm (click through to see). I drive by daily and finally reached out to the artist, Ethan Currier, and learned that the small snails, between about 400 and 1,000 pounds, are $1,000, and the giant one out front, around 3,500 pounds, is $3,500. Everything stone sculpture related at his property on the corner of Wyatt Way and NE Eagle Harbor Drive is for sale, and it's hard to miss the Stonehenge-esque grouping in the yard.

Over in the Coppertop area, the Storyville Roasting Studio Tasting Room has reopened! It's been a while, and it used to be one of those cozy spots where you could sit with a really good espresso made from beans roasted right there on site. I'm looking forward to stopping in again soon.

Our sponsor this week is Stonington Gallery in Pioneer Square, and they're giving away a limited number of free passes to the Seattle Art Fair next weekend. Act fast if you want a chance to go, compliments of Stonington and exclusive to you — thanks for being a subscriber.

On the ferry front, there was a lot of hope that World Cup tourism in Seattle would spill over here and help our local businesses. According to a recent Bainbridge Review article, ridership did tick up, about 808,000 passengers this year versus 792,000 last year for the same period, but not by a huge margin.

And if you're looking for something simple and fun, the All-Comers Track Meet happens Monday evenings through August 10 at Bainbridge High. It's for all ages, it's free, and while kids definitely bring a lot of the energy, anyone can join in. The mile race where you guess your time is always a crowd favorite.

After today, it's looking like blue skies for the foreseeable future. ☀️
